Content Policy

Last updated: 13 July 2026

These rules apply to everything you put on MeraChannel — channel posts, stories, comments, channel names and descriptions, your display name, and your profile picture. They apply equally to paid channel content: a paywall does not make anything acceptable that would not be acceptable in public. Breaking these rules can cost you your post, your channel, your earnings, or your account.

1. Basics

2. What you must never post

Child sexual abuse material

Any sexual content involving a minor, or any content that sexualises a minor, is absolutely prohibited. We remove it, terminate the account permanently, preserve the evidence, and report it to law enforcement. There is no appeal and no warning.

Sexual and adult content

MeraChannel is not an adult platform. Do not post pornography, nudity, sexual acts, or sexually explicit content, including behind a paywall. Do not use the Platform to solicit or sell sexual services. Non-consensual intimate imagery — including “revenge porn”, upskirt or voyeur content, and sexual deepfakes of a real person — is prohibited and will be removed on report, in line with the timelines in Indian law.

Violence, gore, and dangerous acts

No graphic violence or gore posted for shock value. No content that threatens, incites, glorifies, or coordinates violence against any person or group. No terrorist or extremist propaganda, and no content promoting or recruiting for a violent organisation. No dangerous stunts or challenges that a viewer could imitate and be seriously hurt by.

Hate speech and harassment

No content that attacks, dehumanises, or incites hatred against people because of religion, caste, race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic. No targeted harassment, bullying, threats, stalking, or coordinated pile-ons. No slurs.

Self-harm

No content that promotes, instructs on, or glorifies suicide, self-harm, or eating disorders. Content that discusses recovery or seeks support is allowed, but do not post methods. If you are struggling, please reach out to a helpline — Tele-MANAS, 14416, is free and available in India, 24×7.

Illegal and regulated goods

No sale or promotion of drugs, controlled substances, prescription medicines, weapons, ammunition, explosives, wildlife, human organs, counterfeit goods, or stolen goods. No gambling or betting promotion, and no unlicensed real-money gaming.

Privacy of others

Do not post another person’s private information — phone number, address, Aadhaar or PAN, bank details, medical records, or private messages. Do not attempt to unmask, identify, or expose other MeraChannel users. Anonymity is a core promise of this platform; attacking it is a serious breach.

Scams, spam, and deception

No fraud, phishing, pyramid or Ponzi schemes, fake giveaways, or “guaranteed returns” investment pitches. No engagement farming, bulk unsolicited posting, or link spam. No malware, and no links to it. Do not impersonate another person, creator, brand, or MeraChannel itself.

Misinformation that causes harm

Do not post medical, health, or safety misinformation that could cause real-world harm, or content intended to deceive people about an election or provoke public disorder. Do not post manipulated media presented as genuine.

Intellectual property

Do not post content you do not have the rights to. Do not re-upload another creator’s work, and do not redistribute, screenshot, mirror, or leak paid channel content anywhere — inside or outside MeraChannel. Rights holders can write to and we will act on valid notices, including removing content and terminating repeat infringers.

3. Extra rules for creators

Fans pay a coin to subscribe to your channel. That creates obligations:

4. Reporting

Report a post, story, comment, or channel from the ⋯ menu in the app, or email with a link or screenshot and a short description. Reports are confidential — we do not tell the person who reported them.

We acknowledge reports within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days. Content that must be removed faster under Indian law — non-consensual intimate imagery and sexual content impersonating a person, in particular — is actioned within 24 hours of a valid complaint.

5. How we enforce

We take the mildest action that fixes the problem, and escalate for serious or repeated breaches:

ActionWhen
WarningA first, minor breach
Content removedThe post, story, or comment breaks these rules
Channel suspended, or made invisible in discoveryRepeated breaches, or a serious one
Earnings withheld or reversedFraud, fake subscribers, or earnings tied to prohibited content
Account terminatedSevere breach, or a pattern of them
Reported to law enforcementChild sexual abuse material, credible threats of violence, other serious crimes

If your account is terminated for breaching this policy, unspent coins are forfeited and are not refunded, and pending creator earnings connected to the breach may be withheld. See the Refund Policy. Do not create a new account to get around a suspension.

6. Appeals

If you think we got it wrong, email within 30 days with your registered mobile number and what was removed. A person will review it, and we will tell you the outcome. Appeals against removal of child sexual abuse material are not accepted.
