Child Safety Standards
Last updated: 12 August 2026
MeraChannel has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and for child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page sets out what is prohibited, how anyone — user or not — can report a child-safety concern to us, and exactly what we do when we receive one. It applies to every part of MeraChannel, including paid channels: a paywall does not make anything private, and it does not make anything acceptable.
1. Zero tolerance
Child sexual abuse and exploitation is strictly prohibited on MeraChannel. We prohibit child sexual abuse material and any content or conduct that sexualises, endangers, or exploits a minor — anyone under 18. This applies to content posted publicly, content behind a subscription, and to private conduct that reaches us through a report.
There is no warning step for this. Confirmed CSAE content or conduct results in immediate removal and permanent account termination, and there is no appeal against removal of child sexual abuse material.
2. Age policy
MeraChannel is intended only for people aged 18 and over. You may not create or use an account if you are under 18, and you may not create an account on behalf of a minor.
We prohibit accounts and channels operated by minors, content that depicts or sexualises minors, and any use of a minor's image, voice, or identity in a sexual context. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it.
3. What is prohibited
All of the following are prohibited on MeraChannel, without exception:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any image, video, or other depiction of a minor in a sexual context, real or generated, including AI-generated, drawn, animated, or edited material.
- Sexualising minors — text, images, audio, or video that presents a minor in a sexualised way, including captions, comments, channel names, descriptions, and profile pictures.
- Grooming — contacting, befriending, or manipulating a minor for sexual purposes, or attempting to.
- Sextortion — threatening to share a minor's intimate images to obtain money, further images, or any other benefit.
- Child endangerment — encouraging, arranging, or facilitating harm to a minor, including trafficking, or the sale or solicitation of a minor.
- Trading or advertising CSAM — offering, requesting, linking to, or directing people to such material, on MeraChannel or anywhere else.
- Evading enforcement — using coded language, misspellings, or new accounts to continue any of the above.
Violations result in immediate removal of the content and termination of the account, and, where the law requires it, a report to the authorities.
4. How to report a child-safety concern
You do not need a MeraChannel account to report a child-safety concern to us. Email is open to anyone, anywhere.
In the app
Signed-in users can report a channel, a post, or a story directly:
- A channel — open the channel, tap the ⋯ menu at the top right, then tap Report channel.
- A post — in the channel's feed, press and hold the post to select it, tap the ⋮ menu that appears at the top right, then tap Report post.
- A story — in the Stories feed, tap the ⋮ next to the Follow button on that story; or while viewing a channel's stories, tap the ⋮ below the image, then tap Report story.
Each of these opens a box where you describe the problem in your own words. Please write “child safety” in that box so it is routed and prioritised correctly. Reports are confidential: the creator is never told who reported them, or that a report exists.
By email — the fastest route for child safety
For anything involving a minor, email our designated child-safety contact directly. This is the fastest route, it does not require an account, and it is the right channel for reporting a comment or anything else the in-app reporter does not cover:
Child safety point of contact
vijay@amulyam.com
Locus Web Services Private Limited
#202, Kamala Aurum, Plot 9, Road No 70, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad – 500110, Telangana, India
Please include the channel name or link, a description of what you saw, and when you saw it. Do not attach the material itself. Sending or forwarding CSAM is a criminal offence even when the intention is to report it — describe it and tell us where to find it, and we will retrieve it ourselves.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police first. In India you can also report to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal at cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930, and reach Childline India on 1098.
5. What we do when we receive a report
Every child-safety report is treated as urgent and reviewed by a person. When a report reaches us:
- We review it promptly, ahead of other reports in the queue.
- We remove the content as soon as it is confirmed, and restrict access to it in the meantime.
- We suspend or permanently terminate the account or accounts responsible, and any channel involved.
- We preserve the relevant data — the content, account records, and access logs — for use by law enforcement, rather than deleting it outright.
- We report to the appropriate authorities where the law requires it, and cooperate with their requests.
- We take steps to stop the person returning, and we act on new accounts created to evade a termination.
Earnings and unspent coins connected to an account terminated for CSAE are withheld and are not refunded.
6. Reporting to the authorities
MeraChannel reports child sexual abuse material to the relevant national and regional authorities as required by law. In India this includes reporting to law enforcement and to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, in line with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, section 67B of the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. Where a report concerns another jurisdiction, we report to the authority responsible there, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable.
We cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations and respond to lawful requests for information about accounts involved in child exploitation.
7. Compliance
MeraChannel complies with all applicable child-safety laws in the jurisdictions where it operates, including the POCSO Act, 2012 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it. We also comply with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy. These standards are published here, publicly and without a login, so that any user, parent, researcher, or authority can read them.
These standards sit alongside our Content Policy, Terms & Conditions, and Privacy Policy. Where this page and another policy differ on child safety, this page applies.
8. Changes
We will update these standards as the platform grows and as the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
